Just found your tutorial. Great help. I was on a Mac following these instructions but I managed to interpret them with the Audacity layout on Mac.

Just an FYI for Mac users, there is no File Format setting under the preferences menu. The setting appears as an option on the file dialog when Exporting a singe MP3 file.
